What are some of the challenges of homeschooling in the UAE?

There is always significant stress when moving to a new country and adapting to its new and unique environment. Families take about four to six months to settle and adjust. That adjustment period should be factored into the homeschooling schedule.

Likewise, homeschooling families can feel isolated when “stuck” at home. However, as the homeschooling community grows and networks, this is becoming less and less of a problem.

Lastly, though the libraries in Abu Dhabi are great, they are limited; therefore, we must purchase all the books and resources we need. This may involve bringing them with us when we move or having them shipped. Though some relevant materials are available in local book shops, this is not the norm.
